
It’s been a while since we’ve seen the elegant, icy charms of Charlotte Rampling take the lead in a film. Well, the wait is over. Rampling stars in this London noir directed by her son Barnaby Southcombe. It’s his debut feature, the story of a woman (Southcombe describes her as a femme fatale) mysteriously linked to a murder investigation. Gabriel Byrne is the detective called to the crime scene, and who falls for aforementioned elegant, icy charms. And if the pairing of Rampling and Byrne sounds like a dream team, the rest of the cast is a who's who of British acting talent, with Eddie Marsan, Jodhi May and Honor Blackman in supporting roles, and singer-songwriter Richard Hawley providing the soundtrack.
